Moss Rock Festival’s (MRF) is ecstatic to announce the launch of its new website, built by Kinetic Communications!
We’ve worked with Kinetic for years through MRF’s sister festival in the Spring, Magic City Art Connection (MCAC), which celebrated its 40th year this past April 28-30 at Sloss Furnaces. Both Festivals are projects of the Foundation for Arts and Cultural Connections, Inc. (FACC) / Find Art Birmingham (FAB), a 501c3 non-profit.
But that’s not all they have in common. MRF and MCAC actually shared a festival weekend in the Fall of 2020. After MCAC’s covid-necessitated cancellation in the Spring that year, MRF’s Fall weekend was re-imagined as a hybrid festival that would honor and showcase both MCAC and MRF artists and exhibitors together. We called it Moss Magic, and tasked Scott Miller of Miller Communications to design a new logo that reflected both Birmingham and Hoover Festivals. Because of the shared M in the first words of each festival’s name, the M became the branding symbol for 2020’s hybrid year. We loved this iconic design so much, a decision was made to rebrand both festivals logos using this M with MCAC taking on the coloring of the original Moss Magic logo.
As 2023 marketing talks centered around new websites, it made sense to approach the redesigns in tandem with each other, creating a connective aesthetic thread and functionality, but with some key differences through brand coloring and imagery. We’re loving the new features, updates, and upgrades that the Kinetic team has integrated in both sites, which encompass artist and exhibitor hub and profile pages, new image galleries, tethers to social media and blogging content, plus streamlined navigation with ticketing and attendance interfaces. We can’t wait for you to see MRF’s new site! Take a tour! Then keep visiting www.mossrockfestival.com until November 4-5 for more 2023 lineup updates and reveals.
And finally, a HUGE THANKS to the Kinetic team for their support, advice, vision, expertise, and hard work in making the redesign a reality. We asked Jay Brandrup, founder and principal, a couple questions about MRF’s website redesign and the company’s longtime partnership with FACC/FAB festivals.
Kinetic is behind many of the biggest Birmingham Festival websites including Magic City Art Connection, Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham ArtWalk, Sidewalk Film Festival, and now Moss Rock Festival. How has the company’s passion for community and arts and culture driven those relationships, partnerships, and connections?
It was a no brainer that MRF would approach Kinetic to spearhead the Fall Festival’s big website redesign project, which has been a daydream of ours for years. We can’t thank you enough for your generous support and partnership, plus all of the hard work by the Kinetic team to make the new website a reality. Through their vision and expertise, we were able to achieve key goals for the website’s redesign and the evolution of the visitor experience.
We look forward to seeing you for Nature, Smart Living, Art + Design & more outside at the Hoover Metropolitan Complex this Fall!
